We arrive in Brisbane on St Pads day after an other ridiculous bus journey, I am starting to think that Australia is either the size of the world or that the drivers get really lost and just take forever to get to places!
Anyway we head out that night to try and find some nightlife, shouldnt be hard in Australia on Paddys day right, wrong. We found 3 bars open and picked up looked to be the best out of bunch. I was wearing my Ireland rugby shirt and Charlotte naively put on my N Ireland football top. Now when we got into the bar there wear more GAA tops than there was beer. So to say Charlotte got a few funny looks was definitly an understatment. She even got a questioning 'Northern Ireland' thrown her way, but it was from an English guy so that was slightly ironic. So we had our Guinness and a few more drinks and then left as the pub wasnt really in a party atmosphere!
Next day in Brisbane we had our main event! Australia Zoo home of the Crocodiel hunter. Well was. We arrive just in time for the show at the crocoseum. It was a good show, obviously showing us loads of crocs and snakes and stuff, then a few random birds. It was a good show expect it seemed a lot like a Disney tv show and i wanted to punch the host. Maybe more directed at kids. The zoo is very hands on, as they are mainly trying to teach conservation. They walk around the zoo with the animals, Wombats and dingos and the like all on leads and you can go up and stroke them and stuff, which is definetly better than the zoos back when they close of the area if animal has a sneeze or if they hide of 10 minutes! Also at the Zoo we (jointly, more out of financal reasons) held a snake. This snake was huge! it was at least 100m long and weighed over 100 tons. or it was about 3 metres long and weighed 15kgs. It was a Burmese python and it was called medusa. All in all it was a cool snake as it didnt bite me or try and swallow me whole!
In the Zoo there is a big tribute to Steve, which was very moving it was just hundreds of the safari shirts he wore with loads of tributes to him, and all the other stuff that is left in tribute to someone who somehow everyone knew and kind of liked. We were walking around this at the end of the day and we were the only ones left in the zoo so it was quite moving.
We were flying out the Gold Coast airport to Melbourne where maybe we would ave a bit of a road trip!
That was all the main stuff we did in Brisbane it was a cool little city,
