hello

we arrived in puno and got a motor Taxi to the hostel this is a motor bike with a tent on the back. We got to the Hostel Inkas Rest. Lynsey developed a ear infection so we had to venture out into the pouring rain to find a chemist.

whilst we were out in the town we stopped at a shop selling chicken and chips and thought why not. after ordering something of the menu which we thought was just basic chicken and chips, two bowls arrived with soup in it. great as i tucked in to chicken soup it tasted not so good it was 30 secs later lynsey pointed out that the bowl had a chickens foot in it as i digged out the claw it still had the nails on it to the shock of both of us. lynsey to this day stll feels sick about this and is refussing to eat in this town. so choclot and crisps is lynseys diet.

Today we went on a trip to the floating island on the Lake Titikaka. The 56 islands in total are all made from reeds. In fact they Make islands, houses , presents, boats and even eat these reeds. We got to try the reed and it was really nice.

We were shown how they bulit the islands and show around the peoples houses. On the island we went to 25 people lived there. They had 2 boats one they called the Volswagen for them to use everyday and the Mercedes for them to show tourists around in! The people there were really friendly and the women sung to us Twinkle Twinkle little star in four different languages to entertain us.

Tomorrow we are going to Cuzco on the Inca Express, with a little relief we are getting out of Puno.
