Watch out world the Barkers are coming!
Well adios South America!!!
Our final hours have arrived, we were going through our best favourite places last night and can not believe what we have done, so much in so little time, yet still so much left to do. There are many places we still would have liked to have seen and do, but it is not too far away for a quick holiday, especially when Dave is earning his millions! We would definately recommend it to anyone, any age, any how, any time!
Since the last write up we didn't actually make it white water rafting in Bariolloche as the torrential freezing rain had caused a huge flood over the road we needed to go down to get to the river! Quite gald in a way as we would have caught pneumonia! We did meet an Irish guy, little strange and boring, and met up with him in a packed Irish bar in town. Wierd cocktails and live music full of Argentines and back backers, good laugh. From Bariolloche we took the bus to Mendoza where we stayed in a lovely hostel and met a guy from France who has been living in Bristol for the last 5 years, and a guy from Brighton. We decided as it was our last few nights we should be out cellabrating so went for a few too many drinks on the first night, numpty here got hicups and had to go home, but the boys ended up in a gay club with drag queens and shows!!! How jelous was I!! Next morning loud knocking woke us, we had completely forgotten to wake up for the rafting trip we had booked and the bus was waiting for us!! We made it though! The heat, no breakfast, and dehidration meant I nearly didn't make it on the boat as I ended up lying on the rocks by the water in a mess, how embarressing! Pulled myself together though and off we went, I was soon woken up and refreshed by the freezing water splashing into our faces. It was great fun, level 3 for those who know. We paddled along in slight white water the whole way which had come all the way from the snow of the Andes, then it would plunge into water spinning us along and getting us drenched. In the other boat 1 lady fell in twice! Dave saved her the 1st time, he is such a hero! On the last rapids a lady in our boat fell in, wasn't concentrating, and she went under the boat! She was under for ages until the instructure saw her and pulled her in before we went into another hole! It was really quite scary. She was okay though, deffinately had a story to tell.
After recovering from the day we had to go out agian as it was the guy from Brighton's birthday. We have to go now or we will miss the plane!
