What an awesome 5 days we have had in Dubai with Brett, Leigh and our two lovely grandchildren Poppy and Jasper. Temperatures high 30s low 40s every day. Unfortunately family still at school and work so first couple of days Poolside seemed to be the best option how sad. Rehydration difficult with Ramadan especially the way Lindsay likes to rehydrate.
Visiting the kids school was an experience it is such an amazing facility, with a great learning environment and latest technology. Poppy gave us a guided tour and we met some wonderful teaches but first we watched Jasper at swim squad training in a pool complex any school would die for. It has been great being able to share the daily things we miss with them, pony club, rugby training, swimming.
DUbai has the most facilities for every activity you can imagine and where else in the world do you build a marina and canals in the middle of the city just because you can.
Leigh and Brett took us to the Al Nadeem Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah for the weekend. Oh my lord what an awesome place, so luxurious like we've never experienced, the bathroom was the size of our lounge. Relaxing poolside, and a visit to wild wadi water park was so much fun. Scaring the pants of Nana and poppa seemed the highlight.
Bike riding wasn't missed either, but we had to be up and out by 5am and even then it was hot. the first ride around the villages, golf courses, and then the next day out into the desert on a cycle track, 4 meters wide, smooth surface made by the sheik especially for cycling. Sand sun more sand a few oryx in the distance and cyclists galore. a unique experience for sure. Check out the photos
