From Arequipa we took a mini bus up into the Andes towards the deepest canyon in the world (Colca Canyon). Since we were going to be reaching an altitude of 4900m we did as the locals do and chewed on coca leaves ( very bitter!) but they seemed to work. From Lima to nasca we took an 7 hour bus ride and checked in to our hotel and had dinner at a place called Rico pollo basicically the Peruvian nandos. The next day we went to on a dune buggy ride over the sand dunes as nasca is basically in the middle of the desert the went sand surfing down the dunes.
