Ashley still wasn't feeling well on our trip into Prague. That was unfortunate because this was one of the longer train rides and was our only one that required us to switch trains. We made our connection with no problem and Ashley got to rest a bit.
Once in Prague, we found our hostel and she was feeling okay, so we thought we would head out and try and find dinner before it got any worse. We took the Metro into the Old Town Square and walked around a bit before finding a restaurant. The best thing about Prague is everything is cheap. A beer will cost no more than $1-1.50 for a .5 L and all meals were under $30 for both of us. After dinner, Ashley started feeling sick again so we worked our way home. I forgot to mention in Salzburg we had went to the Pharmacy and Ashley talked to a man who gave her some drops to take 3 times a day. The drops taste awful but they seem to help give us about 4-5 hours before she starts feeling sick again. This allowed us to be able to do things, but when they wore off, it was best to work our way home.
Our first full day in Prague was the first day that Ashley actually started feeling better! We decided not to waste it so we caught the Metro back to Old Town Square and started the long hike up to the Prague Castle. Just like Salzburg, the Castle sits atop a hill that overlooks the whole city. We walked all the way up and walked around the castle grounds and cathedral and took in the view of the city. On the back side of the castle, there is a monastery that brews their own beer so we went there for lunch. After that, we caught a bus back to the area around our hostel so we could find a bar to watch the Eurocup game that was coming on. Last time I was here, Deyton and I found a bar called The Pub where every table has there own tap and you get to pour your own beer. There was a second location right near our hostel, so we thought that it was the perfect place to go. It has just opened, so was much less rowdy than the last time I was there, but we grabbed a table and ate dinner there. We called it an early night as we were pretty worn out from all the walking and Ashley was worried she was on the verge of not feeling well again.
On Tuesday, Ashley woke up feeling the best she has felt in almost a week, which was awesome. We decided to catch a free walking tour and learn a little bit more about Prague. It took us about 3 hours but was awesome. Our guide was nice and funny and we definitely learned a lot about the city. I have been to Prague three times now, and it is definitely one of my favorite cities. After the tour, we went to lunch at a traditional Czech restaurant and I had some Goulash and capped it off with shots of plum Liqueur. From there, I had found an "Escape Room" game near our hostel and booked us a reservation. The premise is that they lock you in a room and you have one hour to solve all the puzzles and work your way out. For ours, we were locked in an old military jail cell and had to break out and steal sumbermine plans. It was really neat and were just able to escape in 54 minutes! And we didn't kill each other fighting, which is always a win. After that, we went back down to the main area of town to catch dinner and see the city and the castle lit up at night. Ashley made it the whole day, 25,000 steps and 11 miles and did not feel sick, so I think we are past it! Now on to Berlin!
