Day 1
So we finally arrived in Barcelona at 9pm. I got my first stamp in my new passport and headed out the airport. It was quick and easy to find a taxi, he took us to our 'hostlian' for a bargain 25 euros.
When we arrived there was a strange man waiting outside the locked doors. Told us to wait in is patchy English, then using his mobile he called someone spoke some Spanish then told us to wait. So we waited and waited, then finally summoning the courage we pressed the button for the hostilan then nothing... eventually another man rocked up.
We were hustle through the doors and into a lift then found the man waiting in the foyer. He then proceeded to point to keys and open a series of locks. Took us too our room. Brought us water and then left.
After a quick change of clothes and a google map search we headed out to check out the scene in La Rambla.
Once there we saw the memorial and headed down the strip. Walked along the strip for a while and notice a plenty of police. It was getting nice and busy around 11pm there. Loads of people in cafes along the strip and nightclub promoters trying to get you into their club. We ate a tasty ice cream along they way, still to full from all our plane food to consider eating anything more. After an hour and a half of roaming the street we headed back to try the many series of keys to get into our little room. With quick success me made it and crash the moment our heads hit the pillow.
