So this is the 3rd state I've been through in 3 days, it makes you appreciate how large this country is. While each state is unique there are only a few noticeable differences as you go from one state to another. Unlike on the maps there is not a large red line telling you you are now in another state however there were some changes worth mentioning. Going from NSW into Victoria was significant due to crossing the Murray River and the welcome to Victoria signs, other than this it was fairly uneventful. Going from Victoria to South Australia did require me to stop at the quarantine station at the border. This was to make sure I was not carrying any fruit or vegetables into SA. I physically had to stop the car and show the border protection man what I had and he took it and let me go on my way. The other noticeable change when crossing into SA was the concrete telegraph poles, whilst all other states have wooden ones SA has concrete and steel ones. The only other noticeable difference when changing states is the number plates and with my bright yellow and black ones I stand out against the plain blue and white in Victoria and black and white in SA. The landscape has varied as I've travelled along but not significantly, it was quite green travelling through southern NSW and has become drier as I've headed west and I am sure this will continue to change a I continue on my journey.
For now I plan to have a few rest days in the Barossa Valley, exploring the food and wine on offer here and enjoying this region before heading to Port Pirie.

Mischelle McBriarty Hi Kim, Great to read your blog and know that your travels are going well. Your next stop in the Barossa region is one of my favourite spots in Australia for many reasons. I hope you enjoy your stay there and enjoy sampling the local produce. cheers Mischelle
Kim Gerdes Thanks Mischelle, I've had 2 days here so far, eating and drinking plenty and it's been great, one more full day tomorrow before heading off on Friday :)
