Helloooooooooo!!

We went on our trip to Byron Bay as planned! It was nice to see some different landscapes outside of Brisbane city. Lots of lush green trees on the way and red soil, very pretty:)

We were travelling on a coach and our first stop was the Honey farm, we saw bees behind glass, making their honey and even a queen bee!!!! found out the lady bees are the workers and the male bees are lazy and just sit about all day eating bits of honey. Afterwards, we were shown how they extract the honey from the hives and told a few facts about how good honey is for us, for example helps acne, stomach upsets, cancer, colds etc. I bought myself a pot of honey, for the journey back home to the uk, we will see if it helps my tummy! :)

We then head to the most easterly part of Australia, which had a lighthouse (still working) and the beautiful beach right below us, it was beautiful. We had only half an hour there, so went for a short walk, taking pictures along the way.

Next we made our way to Byron Bay. It was filled with Hippies:) wearing colourful clothing, and looking very chilled, we also saw lots of surfers dotted about and the odd tourists like ourselves. Shops had incent stick smells filling the streets, which added to the hippy atmosphere:)

We ate a lovely lunch in a cafe, which happened to serve gluten free food:) a fancy looking chargrilled chicken sandwich, a real treat for me:)

After our feast, we went to the beach for a relaxed rest and a short swim, the water was so clear and the perfect temperature. We hurried to the coach and made our way to the tropical fruit farm. We were greeted with a presentation, this was filled with many tasters, so delicious!!! we tried mango, pineapple, star fruit and many many more!!!! during our presentation, a lizard ran across the fabric ceiling!:) Of course this was a way for them to make money, hoping we would buy many kinds of fruit, so we bought a small mango between us:) lol

It was a great trip and well worth seeing! we are off O'Reilleys Monday, so will update early next week. Lots more pictures to add, just no time to put them on here yet, so will do that also.
