La Paz
We arrived in La Paz at 8am. We did get some sleep, the bus very similar to the night bus in Chile as we opted for cama seats. The only difference was the leg room was just a tiny weeny bit shorter so couldn't get a full on stretch of the legs, but we slept. At the start the bus driver thought he was Lewis Hamilton, going around those bends, thank god it was dark and I couldnt see. I just prayed when I woke I would still be in one piece.
We took a cab to our hostel and as it was early when we arrived, our room wasnt ready until 9.30am but fortunatly we could go to the breakfast room and have coffee and breakfast until the room was ready. We showered and went out after chilling for a few hours. La Paz was back to being cold and hilly again, and not so easy to walk without catching your breath. Streets are full of markets with stalls selling everything under the sun. Lovely bright colours everywhere, so many pretty things I want to buy but Col keeps shouting at me, and my bag is close to splitting, its just too full. We have been to the Museo San Francisco, which beautifully revives the history and art of the 460 year old cathedral and the Museo de Etnografia y Folklore which explores the Chipaya culture and an exhibit of the country's finest textiles. The last day spent in La Paz was slightly ruined as it decided to rain most of the day, but we still headed out for a late lunch, and it gave me time to catch up on the blogging. We have booked our bus to Copacabana on Lake Titicaca. Still at a high altitude at 3,800 meters just like La Paz. I cant remember the last time we was at sea level, it's been weeks now.
