Along the modern Road with mountains & scrub steppe-land either side; past a barely noticeable ancient settlement to that of notable medieval Burana. The tower now half its previous size, with the funerary monuments scattered. Dusty roads then to the night in a guesthouse, nestled in the valley at the foot of a gorge.

I've taken to riding in the luggage bus where I get a front seat & can see more & take photos. The road this morn first ran alongside a gushing glacier stream, then was tarmac-ed and sometimes under construction, through the Tien Shan mountains, over the hours & giving a sense of journeying.

On the way we met with a hunter with eagles who explained and demonstrated this traditional way of nomadic life and the bond & inter-dependency of people & animals.

More road than a dip in the 2nd largest salt lake in the world, Issky Kul. More road til we got to do a hike up to waterfalls, majestic mountains. Then the final road to the yurt for overnight.

A last night in Kyrgyzstan in the city of Karakol and a local delicious meal in a family house.
