Day 24 Halong Bay.
This will really be a short post today as we are travelling to Ha Long Bay for an overnighter on a traditional junk (hopefully it doesn't live up to its name). The area we are sailing around is famous for its 'Karst' rock formations - large limestone formations that rise up vertically from the sea in fabulous shapes and sizes. They are well worth a look on the old tinternet.
Last nights meal at Le Tonkin was good, if not memorable. It was in the French quarter and therefore was a bit more than some of our bargain buys. However I see nothing wrong in fleecing French tourists although it was a bit disrespectful that they didn't recognise someone of such a fine heritage as their establishment (perhaps every other vietnamese in this area is called Tonkin). They even tried to charge me for the 2 beers that the Spaniard on the next table had drunk, who no doubt was called 'El Tonkin'. Common as muck these Tonkin's!
Anyway must go, 45 mins to eat breakfast, finish packing and check out...and its only 6.30am. Back in contact when on dry land.
Come on u reds...1-1 draw good enough. See Norwich left it late!
