Sorry this isn't a great picture, its a picture of a poster of the renovation of the Church showing what they found below. The church was originally founded in 1047 by Duke Lambert II who wanted to pay homage to St. Michael the archangel/patron saint of Brussels. It was a Roman structure to start but over the centuries it was renovated and added to according to the style of the period. Some elements remain from the Roman period, and the Gothic period and the Baroque period as well.
