We arrived in Siem Reap a few hours early, when we got off the bus there was a bloke from our hostel with our names on a piece of paper - we felt really important!! The man that picked us up was to become our tuk tuk driver, we arranged to meet him later to go and see the sunset at Phnom Bakheng. We decided to go out for a pizza for lunch at a place called Happy Herbs Pizza - it was really tasty but not too much effect was noticed, I don't know how they can manag...

After a long lie in we decided to go and see the sights of the city. We set off on our walking tour at 1pm in the scorching heat, you would have thought that by now we would know not to venture out in the hottest part of the day!! After 5 minutes we were dripping with sweat but by staying in the shade it was bearable - just!! We went to see Wat Phnom first, it is on a 27 m high hill in a park full of small monkeys. An early start saw us on a bus from Ho Chi Minh City to Ben Tre where we would start our 3 day and 2 night trip on the Mekong Delta which would take us all the way to Phnom Penh in Cambodia, a good way to travel the long distance as we don't feel like we are wasting the time just traveling from a to b. It was a little bit confusing to begin with as there were many different types of trip running with several different guides, we had heard this from other traveler...

After arriving late afternoon yesterday (our bus that said 3pm arrival was more like 5pm!) we only had today to explore Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) or Saigon. It is interesting that so many people still call HCMC Saigon, even travellers who were not even born before the name was changed to HCMC, it seems either can be used interchangably. We were up pretty early to catch a trip to the Chu Chi Tunnels that were used by the Vietcong in the American War. On the way ...

We had a very scenic bus journey up into the mountains to reach Dalat. The views of the sea on the way were gorgeous and when we stareted climbing into the mountains the views were breathtaking. The road was really windy as we climbed higher and higher - it didn't help that the bus driver was a loonie!
