G'day everyone! So we made it to Melbourne safe and sound :) It's a shame it's such a flying visit because it's a really cool place...well from first impressions anyway! We arrived late afternoon after a pretty smooth journey from NZ and when we walked out of the airport the sun was shining and despite the fact it was about 6 o clock in the evening it was BOILING! We got picked up from the airport by Reena's uncle and cousin who we were lucky enought to stay with that evening. It was so nice to be in an actual house!!!On the way home we took a de tour to Pin Oak Crescent...otherwise known as Ramsey Street for all you Neighbours fans. Sadly I haven't watched Neighbours in years...but I still recognized the street itself which was pretty cool. Eloise and Elle on the other hand were pretty excited hehe!...so much so they booked themsleves onto a Neighbours tour for this afternoon :) That evening we had a home cooked curry which was amazing...made me realize how much I miss all my home comforts...and Mum's cooking lol! The next morning we had a big sorting session on the internet attempting to organise our Australian adventures and then hopped on the bus to St Kildas to check into our Hostel...back to travelling reality lol. We spent the afternoon looking round St Kildas (in the rain!!! :( ) and then last night we headed into central Melbourne on the tram to Victoria night market which was fantastic! It was absolutely buzzing with some really cool and interesting stalls...and the food stalls were amazing especially the pancakes! We met up with Reena' s cousin and friend here too which was cool. When we were in NZ we met a guy who works in Melbourne in a bar called Eurotrash who invited us there for a drink if we were ever in Melbourne...so we made the most of the offer and headed there after the market closed. And that brings me to today. I'm just waiting for Reena to arrive at the hostel before we head into Melbourne to check out the sights...and the shops! Tommorow we fly off to Ayers Rock for our three day safari...bit nervous about what to expect but really excited too. After that we head to Sydney where we've booked ourselves onto the Oz experience up to Cairns :) Will keep you all updated of course. Speak soon and take care everyone xxx
