We got to the camp site, jumped out of the cars and of course it started to rain!! We had to quickly whip a tarp up for some shade. We had a yummy dinner and then did some star gazing, trying to work out which way was South.

Along the great ocean road we turned off at Cape Otway to see the light house. On way in we saw loads of Koala's! There are so many, that they are killing the trees! We didn't end up seeing the light house as we got there too close to closing time and thought we'd better start making for camp before it started raining and getting dark!

Today we went to Bells Beach. There were heaps of surfers braving the cold to catch a wave or two. Then we started on the great ocean road. It has been hazy, overcast and raining all day.

Set up camp at a caravan park in Torquay, just past Geelong. We are on the edge of Bells Beach, so we will be sleeping to the sound of the waves tonight! Much nicer than the traffic noises last night. We went through a few cute little towns today after leaving Bendigo. Kangaroo Flat, Castlemaine, Guildford and Daylesford. We saw our first echidna for the trip today, trying to cross the road, thankfully it decided to turn around and stay on the side it was on! ...

We are in the beautiful Bendigo!! So many beautiful old buildings. We went into the chapel and climbed a viewing platform that over looks the town. I didn't quite make the top but the view was still great! We parked near the botanic gardens, the trees are full of bats! We checked out the Bendigo Bank head office! Amazing building! Too bad it was closed, I would have loved to go inside!
