We went to the annual Alice Springs Camel races today! I have never seen a camel run before, let alone with a jockey on its back! The jockey was bouncing around with every leap! They are an extremely odd looking, uncoordinated animal! The races were 400 metres and half an hour apart! We watched the four qualifying races and then the 'Camel Cup'. We each picked a camel for the final race, Tim's came first, Sharon's came last, Wade's came second last, mine came fourth and Luke's didn't start! Was a great day! We got to a top of approx. 29degrees! Was very warm!! U would not like to be here in summer! It started to rain when we got back to camp, which cooled it down a bit, but meant we couldn't sleep with the canvas windows open!
