Hi, thanks for the messages once again. I have just updated another Postcard of the past week's diary events, so please have a look if you get the chance. I think I am going to Jhansi tomorrow, so I will use the Internet there to upload my photos, as they have a much faster connection than the computer shops in Orchha ! SHIRLEY: in the village where the musicians come from, there are 22 houses, probably an average of 8 people per house (grandparents, parents, children and their babies). They earn about 10,000 Rupees (125 GBP per month) between the whole lot of them if they're lucky and get plenty of wedding ceremonies to play their music at. This is barely enough to feed them, they usually only have one set of clothes (that's how I recognise the kids everyday) and it's no wonder so few are educated. This is why the charity work is so important for people. PS. I have now updated my site to show that I'm in India, thanks for the reminder ! Al xxx

Hi Alli, I hope the Cultural Show went well, it would be great if you can attract more tourists to produce much needed funds for the village. How many people live in the village, what are their living conditions like. Like Claire I am looking forward to see pictures of your make over. Take care, all at SBC send their best. On your homepage why are you still flashing in the UK!!!!!.
Dad
Hi Alli. sounds like you are going native in a big way, walking is going to come back into fashion as the cost of fuel rises so you will be one up on the rest of us westerners? take care love Mum & Dad

Hi everyone, thanks for messages again, it's great being able to keep in contact through this site. I haven't had much time to spend updating the site though, as they work me even harder than Swindon Borough did ! Having a great time and still really happy to be doing something good for the needy. Please check out my latest postcard. I have tried but failed to load my photos onto this website, need to find a decent internet cafe with broadband, as I sat for 50 minutes and the 5 photos I tried still hadn't uploaded so I gave up !
Shirley
Hi Ali,
Glad to hear that you are safe and well. I expect by now you have seen and heard all about the earthquake. Village life sounds fascinating. Jean and Joan both read your account and send their best wishes. Can't wait to hear more about the place you are in at the moment. Great news that you were able to get some medical assistance. Take care of yourself.

Hi everyone, thanks for your messages and keep them coming please ! I have just posted the first week's worth of what I have been doing on the Postcard part of this website, just click on the India postcard and then the Orchha 9th Oct diary entry should come up first for you to read. I am having such amazing experiences already and I know I have made the right decision to do volunteer work with these wonderful people for a few months. For those of you that were concerned, I am miles from the earthquake area and didn't know anything about it until Claire text me and asked if I was ok ! Take care everybody, speak soon, love Alli xxx
