It was great to stop in Singapore for a 5 night rest on the way back to Australia, after 8 weeks of non stop touring around Europe. However, apart from catching up with my friend Gerard (from Oz) and his girlfriend at the Shangri Las Hotel for a wonderful day of drinking, eating and using their luxury pool and spa, we were too tired to bother doing much else in Singapore. Darren came over to visit me for Christmas, so we went sightseeing not only around England & Wales, but also to Belgium & Dublin. Immediately following our return from Belgium to Manchester Airport, Darren & I then headed to Dublin to spend Xmas Eve, Xmas Day & Boxing Day. We found Dublin quite dead actually, we were surprised that the pubs shut fairly early on Xmas Eve, as we thought we had come to the one place in the world where the pubs were bound to be open all night !
