Hardy Inhabitants
the summit is characterised by a diverse montane heath community, which blooms from late winter to spring. Montane heath plants are dwarfed and rarely grow above one metre because they grow in harsh conditions - high winds, exposure to sun, poor quality soils and high evaporation rates. These hardy plants provide food and shelter for insects, birds and small mammals.
