Wildlife wonder!! Prepare yourself, this is a long one. We arrived in Campo Grande on Saturday evening and were met by Gil our tour operator at the airport. So Paraty. This is a small colonial town on the west coast of Brazil about 2 hours from Angra Dos Reis where the boat docs from Ilha Grande. It was built as a shipping port in order to transport gold brought down from mountain gold mining towns, such as Ouro Preto, to Rio and across the Atlantic. Greetings all! Ilhe Grande certainly had some ups and downs for us starting with the fact we'd been checking the weather forecast for the wrong island. Soon after arriving we realised the 100% humidity, 40 degree heat and unpredictable thunderstorms would instead be maximum 25 degrees with occasional persistent rain and the odd sunny day!
