The wanderings of Alice
The Cameron Highlands- a welcome break from the city heat. It's situated about 1500m above sea level which means that it's nice and cool. So nice to not want a shower every ten minutes! There's lots of tea here, one of the biggest plantations in the whole of Malaysia. The company is called BOH and you probably won't see any of it in Tescos as it's only sold in Malaysia. It tasted very nice though, and enjoyed seeing how it was made. That was after trekking through some of the jungle, it's rained an awful lot so it was very muddy. Good mud though, made a wonderful squelch. Later we visited a butterfly farm and had giant grass hoppers and scorpions dangled inches from our faces. Then finished it off with a hefty bowl of strawberries- there are an awful lot grown around here so it'd be rude not to give them a try. Tomorrow it's off to Penang, lets pray the coach won't break down again, causing us to sit in the blistering heat for 3 1/2 hours- oh the joys of South East Asia.
