Hock-Quest Checked:
- Grand Central Station
It's just spectacular to think how heavy that place is. - Central Park
Properly... I skated around it (The paths were not suitable for skating inside due to gravel and hills) and walked in it. I felt like about 70 characters from different films. My favourite bit was the tiny Belvadere Castle outside which a Japanese Muscitian was playing for tips. Ironically he was the only person I wanted to give a tip to in America! So I did. I had sat for 20 mins at the top of his castle, and just smiled watching turtle pond. I could live in NY simply because of that park. - The Boathouse
I didn't have an Iced Tea at the Boathouse, it didn't feel right at the time, there was no sun and a severe lack of singing movie casts at the time. Besides, the whole park had been an oasis of peace amongst the hustle and bustle. When I popped my head out of the trees to see the inner-skyline I felt great. - Rokkerfella
The time constrained version was also cheaper methinks. Me and Amelia took the opposite photo from below the rockerfella looking up - marrrvellous. - Juniours.
A yummy burger and cheese cake were had with the return of the smiley, shiny, happy Emmie.
BUT in the mayhem of choosing from randomly flavoured drinks we didn't get around to hearing the waitress's story. We loved her anyway.
Other events in NYC
- American Museum of Natural History. Huge. Intense. Always expected Ross to pop up from behind an exhibit... Was taken into space by the voice of Morgan Freeman. Mega stuff.
- Late night pizzas after the super duper Around the World in 80 Days - which we saw fro free by the way! Never hurts to ask, especially when the sales lady gives it tou you as if it were drugs... 5 Actors. sterling effort. Riddiculous british accents. We sat on the roof that night and gossipped and chatted until the early hours. That TV show feeling.
- Independence Day packed lunch as served by my dear Amelia. All american treats including Chips, PB&J and baby cheeses. I did by best to wear american colours - white red and blue - very familiar though...
Left in the caring hands of my hosts -one dollar origami book - after one attempt which was given to an unimpressed Taco Bel server in another state. I loved that book more than I used it. I left my towel in NY just as I left my cashmere scarf in Tokyo.
Next time I go to New York I want to see Potted Potter - the Harry Potter spoof based on all the books! I am flying out of JFK to the beauty of 4th July fireworks. I know for sure I want to see that party in full some year!
