Tulum was very touristy and I look forward to losing sight of gift shops. It has a lovely beach and filipe and I seen what we think was a blow fish (he thought it was a fast moving poop first of all!) it had spikes and would inflate a little when he brushed it with sea weed.
On this beach Kim and I had cilantro (sp?) which is one of the best meals I've had yet on my travels. It was uncooked shrimps with lemon/lime juice on raw onion and tomato and guacamole on toasted wraps. Yuuuuuuuuumm.
Went out to a full moon party which, after being led astray by another group we ended up on a rock / cliff edge after attempting to sneak into the party. But we got caught and sat on the road drinking rum with about eight different nationalities. I played them my trumpets album :)
We also took a bike ride to a cenote. Googling what a cenote is might be worth while as my description goes: these are underground (limestone?) caves filled with water. In places the roof has gone allowing access for the bikini clad gringo (white tourist). In a lot of these cenotes they have been undisturbed and have fossils / mammoth tusks about then. The water is crystal clear. We had our snorkels and when paddling along you can just see in the dark the walls of the cavern drop down down into the darkness. From when there was no water in the caves, limestone pillars have formed which are still there and you can swim around.
