I admit that i have been extremely lazy and unproductive in relation to my blog entrys. As the last blog entry was almost 2 months ago i will give just a brief encounter for WA (Western Australia) as now looking back, everyday kinda blends into one surf inspired, slightly beer fuelled good time with great mates.
When we arrived in Perth, WA at the start of april it was the wednesday leading up to easter bank holiday weekend. we had to hang around all weekend until the Tuesday to sort our Indo Visas out. We then missed the coach to go down south and had to stay another bluddy day. Perth is just another city in my budget concious, adrenaline seeking mind and a couple of days would have been just fine but a week was too long. Highlight was seeing the DJ Fake Blood at a new club called Villa.
From Perth we got on a coach for 4 hours to Yallingup where our mate, Leeroy, lives. We met Leeroy way back in January while we were in Morocco. His a genuine good geezer, cracking surfer and made us feel very welcome the whole time we were there, which turned out to be 3 weeks. Over those three weeks we surfed everyday except 3. A Holden Commordore 3.8 litre turbo estate was our transport to the beach everyday. The car to say the least had character. with 350 000 km on the clock, regular random engine cut outs and no license or Rego, the drive to the surf was almost as intense as the surf itself. The standard of waves within a 50km of Yallinup is world class. Intense, short, heavy barrellin waves was the common scenario, different to anything i surfed before so it took a while and more than handful of beatings to get use to them. Whilst in Yallinup my birthday came and went along with a good old Aussie barbie and cold ones, one to remember! I could have stayed in WA for alot longer but it wasnt so bad leaving as i can definetly see myself goin back there again and again.
Next stop Tasmania to see Amelia, Mum, Dann, Pete and crew, after three months absense!
