Hello!
It's 12:14pm, it's a beautiful day and I've just enjoyed a lovely late breakfast and ice coffee.
I am sat on a lovely little roof terrace overlooking the river in the middle of Hoi An old town. There are boats sailing up and down, people riding bikes around and it's really chilled.
Last night was a late night and was really good fun. Martin met up with some uni friends so I enjoyed meeting new people in the hostel and joined them to walk into town. We went to a few bars and I called it a night at around 2am. This morning I felt fine and had another suit fitting at 10:30am. My trousers were much better but the jacket still need some work. I' really enjoying the tailoring experience, the service is great and I'm going back at 3pm to try it on again. Hopefully this time it will be a case of adding finishing touches :)
After the suit fitting I rode into town and did a loop around the river. I'm going to have a look at some shops on my way back before probably heading to the beach again, we shall see.
Bye for now :) X
Hello,
It's not 6:43pm on Wednesday, I'm ill, in bed and not feeling great at all.
Me and Martin have just moved out of the Family Hostel as it was, and excuse my French, a complete s*** hole!
The atmosphere was great, which probably explains the raving reviews, but when you don't have a light in the toilet and are sharing with 6 lads who are all up for boozing, there comes a point in your life when you simply have to get out!
We moved next door to a lovely little hotel and will stay here but go back to the hostel for drinks etc later.... The best of both worlds!
After my lovely brunch the other day we went back to the hostel, had my suit fittings and chilled. We arranged all our travel plans and then headed out for a meal with 2 girls we had met along the way up north. We went to a lovely little restaurant called Morning Glory! I had the Red Snapper and it was fantastic!! We then went to have a drink on a boat before ending the night with karaoke again :)
On our last day in Hoi An we had decided to do the sunrise paddle boarding! We dragged ourselves out of bed at 4am and were on the beach for 5am! We set off the 5 others into the sea with our guide Johno! It was lots of fun and it wasn't long before the sun started to appear. Unfortunately it was a little cloudy but it was still a fantastic sight to watch from the water! We all enjoyed taking pictures and messing around before paddling for what seamed like forever back to shore for an ice coffee. We then paddled back to the base for a BLT before going back to the hostel.
On our final day I had to sort out my suit, arrange for shipping and also agree a refund for our cancelled tour. This wasn't as easy as it should have been either, but we got there in the end!
At 5pm yesterday we left Hoi An and set off on a monster bus journey south! It took 19 hours in total to reach Dalat and it was pretty horrendous! On the journey I managed to speak to my girl and arranged for some flowers to be delivered to her house on her arrival back in the UK from France. It was great to receive a message from her at 3am whilst on the bus saying how happy they had made her. That put a big smile on my face and I again realised how lucky I am to be going back to Dubai to be with such an amazing and beautiful person! I also managed to speak to Mum and enjoyed chatting on the Hampy Gossip What's App group :)
At around 1pm today we arrived in Dalat which is a lovely place in the mountains! Finally it is cool and I haven't been sweaty all day, bliss!
After lunch we went to visit 'Crazy House' which is an architectural mash of all sorts! It was good to look around but we didn't stay long. I did however manage to arrange for Martin and I to spend a morning in a local school tomorrow whilst I was there. That should be interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like! We walked into town before having a burger and going back to the hostel.
They hostel is a good laugh and there are lots of people there that we know. However, I'm just not feeling up to being kept awake all night by drunk 'kids'! That might sound like I'm old and boring but for an extra $4 I now have my own room with ensuite, double bed and it's great! Martin has just moved down too and we're going to head back up there in a minute :)
Tomorrow we will explore a little more of Dalat. Bye for now :) Tom X

Ali Thank goodness you're getting your new suit shipped! I was beginning to become concerned for its welfare!
