The Roman sepulchral way was discovered in 1959 during the refurbishment of one of the buildings on the square. It dates back to the 1st to 3rd centuries AD and was one of the principal roads into ancient Barcino. All the funerary monuments are in a perfect state of preservation and can be admired from the glassed-in row of balconies that surrounds them.
