So last night was my last night working at Ollies and I was expecting a quiet night at work but as soon as I got there I knew it was going to be fun. There was an Argentinian guy who was wasted watching the Copa America and it was pretty clear he had been drinking all day. When it came to paying his bill he decided that he had no money and instead wanted to fight one of the bar maids so the police came in and tear gassed pretty much the entire bar, not too fun when you have to spend the next 9 hours working in the same room when you cant breathe and your eyes are running. But was still pretty funny to see the man trying to fight with the police and walk, it was pretty obvious he had taken quite a bit of cocaine, which seems to be the norm around La Paz!
After the initial excitement had warn off it was a pretty quiet night as most people abandoned the bar due to the tear gas but later in the evening a few smaller groups came in and the free shots began to flow making the night go pretty quickly.
Today I collected my wages and did some last minute shopping before packing and getting ready for my 8am bus tomorrow morning. I am really excited to get out of La Paz as the novelty has warn off after 3 weeks and it will be good to get back to Arequipa, which is an awesome relaxed city with plenty of places to chill out and relax for the day before getting my night bus to Lima on Tuesday night! Let the bus journeys begin!!
