Day 39
We arrive in Sihanoukville after a 6 hour bus journey at our new accommodation "The Small Hotel". We chat to the receptionist about what to do in the area and decide to go the beach the following day as the hotel offers a free ride and also has a bar there. The hotel is situated quite far away from the town and we were both tired from the bus journey so have a relaxed evening with a few Angkor beers.
Day 40
The Tuk Tuk was due to pick us up at 9am but after getting up and ready it pissed down with rain! Denied our first beach we got a Tuk Tuk to town and found a cinema (top cat). This place was awesome, we had our own private room with massive chairs, pillows, blankets and could order pizza or snacks and stay there as long as we wanted. There was a tv in the room with over 6,000 films available. We watched The Sweeney and much to Hannah's delight - Despicable me 2 and were charged $8 each, about £5 - bargain!
Day 41
We decided to move nearer to town and found a room to stay in at "New Sea View Villa" above the restaurant. We had lunch on the beach and booked boat tickets to head to an Island called Koh Rong Samloem. In the evening we witnessed the worst karaoke ever and no it wasn't me! The last and only karaoke I have performed was with James Dartnell singing "The Thong Song" but that's another story!
This guy decided to sing Oasis - Wonderwall and oh my god did he "sing" it! It must have taken us half the song to realise what he was attempting to sing and a further negative was that he was English so there was no language barrier to mask his horrendous voice! He was also the organiser of the karaoke. Needless to say nobody else decided to sing after that song, they were either shocked, taken aback or laughing in hysterics! Hannah and I were a mixture of all 3!
Day 42
Coming towards the end of the "rainy season" in south East Asia now but we couldn't avoid this days rain. It bucketed down! There was only one thing for it, Top Cat Cinema! They really should have 1 of these in England! We paid our $8 watched Pain & Gain followed by Gangster Squad and spent the rest of the day playing pool, table tennis and darts - it's a hard life!
