Christchurch-the most English of cities in New Zealand-not that English-I was very dissapointed to learn that you couldn't punt yourself down the River Avon (guided tours only)-what kind of fun is that?
I spent my days in New Brighton-a bit different to the one in the UK, but less gays, more surfers. Went walking around a place called Taylors Mistake, a beach that leads to a series of bays around a beautiful penninsula. Men went diving and I went sunbathing-it was great. A BBQ followed, perfect way to spend a bank holiday.
A friend I met in Napier (Sarah) came down for a couple of days which meant we could do touristy stuf, like walk around Cathedral Square drink coffee and visit the Christchurch mueum, which had a good exhibit on the Antarctic.
On the last day we nipped back up to Kaikoura to say hi to Kelly and Nigel, more fishing (Paua) and I did what I love; sunbathing on a rock-mermaid style! I really think I have found a place that I can call home.
