The start of our wicked advernture...not so great. We got off to a good start in that we got to the Blue Mountains National Park. very pretty scenerey, although somewhat like driving through the countrysdie at home! We made it to katoomba, home of the famous Three sisters rock formation, and where you can do various train, cable car and other fun rides down the valley and up again. Unfortunately for us we arrived in the rain...and after a cold night woke up to fog, meaning that we wouldn't see one, let alone three of the sisters.
So we decided to head off to Jenolan, an area with a huge cave system. Having woken up at 5am meant that we got there fairly early and went to see two of the caves; Lucas (huge domes ceilings) and Diamond (low celings and shiny rocks)...lots of fun and some excercise, then off again in the direction of Canberra.
We had to stop along the way to fix our gas stove as the stupid hire people had given us a dud-meaning we hadn't been able to cook anything for the last two days-catastrophe! We had to pay to get it fixed but they have promised to give us our money back!
Finally got to Canberra tonight...crashing in the YHA carpark and using thier kitchen and showers before we decide where to go next.
