Checked out of our very lovely hotel today and checked our baggage in at the Qanats desk at the train station in HK. We then headed out onto Lantau Island, twice the size of HK. We spent a very nerve wracking 45 mins in a coach going up & down mountains to get to Po Lin Monastery & the world's largest outdoor Buddha. Definately worth the journey as the Buddha was amazing, right at the top of a mountain looking very serene & absolutely ginormous. The monastery was just like every other temple we've been to, red & gold, but it did have a veggie restaurant & no meat was allowed, even in the picnic area. We then had to endure the coach ride back, this driver had a real job with the gear box, especially 1st which he neede to be in most of the time. Now we're at the airport, waiting for our flight to Perth to start the 8week Oz adventure.
