Yesterday we got the 10am bus to Villa La Angostura, an hour north of Bariloche. It´s basically a smaller, and less crowded, version of Bariloche, with lots of cute wooden chocolate & souvenir shops. It´s still touristy but it has a more relaxed feel about it. We really loved Mendoza. For the second half of our time there we stayed at a cool hostel called Mendoza Inn but we had a wierd room mate who made us feel awkward about being a couple in a dorm - her problem not ours! On Tuesday I felt so ill, cold & aches, but not in the mood to carry my rucksack and catch a 6am bus to Tucuman. I fed my cold with some nice alfajores (cookie sandwich filled with, yes you´ve guessed it, dulce de leche, 16p). Arrived in Tucuman at 2pm and got a taxi to our hostel. Yesterday we got the 7am bus from Salta to Cafayate and enjoyed the most delicious crossiant filled with dulce leche (a thin milky caramel) for brekkie. I could definitely get used to this! Met a guy from Paraguay called Edgar at the hostel and ended up getting the local bus to Cachi together, via the very scenic Cuesta del Obispo route. The views of the mountains and the valley were stunning. The bus climbed higher and higher along a very windy, gravelled road.
