We rise with the sun and take down our tents and repack everything back on the bike. Not a bads night sleep, once I got to sleep!
Back to the off road, it seems to be getting better, a bit more of a solid surface but still plenty of soft sand and corrigations to deal with. We manage to find a stopping place for our mid morning chia, but nothing to eat.
Soon after we set off, disaster my bike over heated, we initially thought it was the cooling fan as there was plenty of water in the radiator header tank. Garry managed to get the fan working by directly wiring it to the battery - still overheating. We then thought it was the water pump. I struggle on making frequent stops to let the bike cool down but it is slow progress.
Radiator header tank full of water but later we stripped off the fairing and found the radiator empty. Putting water in we found it was leaking but managed to limp along by filling with water every few miles. Any water - bottled water ditch water and even coke. We eventually got to a largest town called Bayankhongor and as it was getting late (7pm) to find a hotel.
Luckily we came across a guy who could speak English and he directed to a car place where we could buy some radiator weld stuff (you pour it into your radiator and should seal leaks, providing they are not too big.
Garry spent a bit of time spreading metal putty on the outside of the radiator and then we put the rad weld material in and success it seemed to seal. Phew, what a relief!
By the time we got showered it was well gone 9pm and getting dark. Steve and I ventured out into the town and could not find anything open except a quite hotel bar, so we had to fill our stomachs on three pints of beer.
So quite a day and so tiring - all I managed to eat today was a packet of crisps, a chocolate ice lollie and three pints of beer. Great way to lose weight.
Our hotel beds were luxurious and very welcome after our camping the night before.
