Well, it feels it has been awhile since we've written. It has been a great time so far here in Bolivia and so far have definitely liked it more than Peru. That said, I feel (similar to Peru) like we haven't really done much. After Copacabana and La Paz, we've skipped all the way down to Sucre. We did it! Last Thursday, we started a four-day, three-night trek to Cerro Charkini and Huayna Potosí. On Thursday, we took the hour ride up to base camp at Huayna Potosí and had a chance to practice our skills at what is called Glacial Viejo - with crampons and an ice axe.For the final skill, our guide, Porfidio, had us climb a 90 degree glaciar using two ice axes…Aaron of course had a blast and I managed to power my way up as well! Not too much to add today, but wanted to wish everyone a belated happy 2008...we spent it out in richy richville in Lima...a shopping and eating extravaganza right on the water called Larco Mar. Since we had a 5am flight out of Lima on the first and needed to be at the airport by 330am, we figured that we might as well join the rest of the idiots and stay up all night.
