This experience has been soooo amazing!
We returned from our safari last night. The group went to Murchison Falls National Park, where we did a boat launch, game drive, chimpanzee tracking and hike to the top of Murchison Falls.
During the game drive, we spotted elephants, water buffalo, baboons, impalas, wildebeats, and warthogs. At the end, we came upon a huge herd of giraffes. They are so beautiful! I couldn't believe how close we were!
Our boat launch was spectacular! We went early in the morning, when the whole environment was serenely undisturbed. The Nile River was so placid that it looked like you could walk out onto it. Many hippos, crocs and birds along the way. What a beautiful scene! As we moved closer to the falls, it looked like a root beer float from all of the foam.
The group hiked to to the top of Murchison Falls, the most powerful falls in the world. Its truly unbelievable how all of that water can travel through a 7m space. You can hear all of the force in the water, and it gave me goosebumps. No barriers on the edge, so be careful!
We went chimpanzee trekking but didn't have much luck. All our group saw was a few scurry across the path; the others got to watch them for over an hour.
At the park, baboons came up to us and tried to steal our lunch. Don't worry, I defended my food!
