Bok from Croatia!
My flights all went very smoothly, and I arrived in Split on time. My luggage, however, is a different story. No luggage thus far. Luckily, I have been loaned a bathing suit, and pretty much have been living in that. Anyway, on to the good stuff....
The Adriatic is soooo beautiful. I cannot get over it. The water is such a deep blue that it is almost purple. Actually, it looks like purple kool - aid. I stare at it all day long and never tire of it, but I do get a little thirsty just staring at purple kool- aid all day. The sun reflecting off the water looks like thousands of cameras flashing.
There are 5 other girls (Vlatka, Dubravka, Militza, Josipa and Buba) along and a skipper, Rico. The weather has been perfect the entire time! I thought that we would explore the national parks a little bit during the day, but we spend our days on the boat - sailing, swimming, tanning, reading. We did go to the blue cave and the green cave - both spectacular! We stop at islands along the way to swim. Typically, the island only has a coffee shop on it and people sunning themselves - no homes or stores. Each night, we dock in a different harbor, as we sail our way north.
The language barrier has been frustrating thus far. In smaller groups, they are really good about speaking English. When the entire group is together, they don't speak English at all, so I spend hours on end not knowing what the conversation is about. I should've studied up on my Croatian beforehand!
Other than that, things have been perfect. Cheers!
