After Lucy and I left Venice we took a flight to Geneva, Switzerland and then a train to Lausanne, Switzerland. Lucy's friend Cara Nunley and her family lived here for many years so we couldn't wait to explore this beautiful city. Lausanne sits on the banks of Lake Geneva. It is a stunning location with the Lake, the mountains, and vineyards along the hills. Lausanne has a very efficient metro system. In fact, Lausanne is the smallest city in the world to have a rapid transit system. Come on Richmond, get with it! Lausanne has an old town center with nice shops and a beautiful cathedral. Lausanne was a diocesan town for over a thousand years. Lausanne is in the french speaking part of Switzerland and a very picturesque spot. We were so glad to have visited this city.
