Our family, mostly the kids (my husband is a big hit too), have easily posed for 30 pictures with the Chinese tourists from the countryside visiting Beijing. We only assume that is where they are from- we are really not sure. We have been gawked at everywhere we go. The bold ones run up and either ask or just start taking action on obtaining a photo with us. What an interesting opportunity to feel what it is like to be a celebrity. At first it was a little invasive and the kids employed stranger danger safety laws…but we soon found out that being nice yields amazing results. We feel an ambassador duty for sure to represent. It is a pretty great feeling for people to be so taken with you they get such joy out of an interaction and photo. BIG smiles, laughter and gratefulness is the response we get when we are inviting and friendly and use our faces and hearts to make a connection. I think the kids will never forget this part.
Other than this…don't count on seatbelts…cigarettes are doing well...the Great Wall of China remains a great, wall….we love Kung Fu and see it any chance we can....we are choking from the pollution.

Tim Shockley I love this update...such an amazing experience for all of you. The pollution is pretty unsettling, but you'll remember more from the Kung Fu. So fun!
Carrie Fleming For 24 hours the photo stuff was great fun. Then Iona lost it (she was 7). Luckily (or not) it was worse 6 years ago than 2 years ago.... The pollution..well just think if its bad in March, its horrendous in the summer!!!
