i've now been told about your first entry by aly and read it myself - i was rather impressed how accurate his version was on the phone last night - reckon it must have been his bedtime reading for the last week! hehe.
glad i know where this is now (i didn't take my slip home from the party :s) i shall keep checking it now :)
sounds like you've had a mad vew days but i dare say you'll have learned your lessons and wised up to the traps of india!
bonfire night tonight... do you have fireworks in india? we're going out for an all you can eat chinese tonight before the excitement to fill and warm us through. although there are rides afterwards which may not be the best combination!
anyways, hope the next week turns out better for you :p
have fun, byeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Hi girls!
Sounds like you had a similarly bewildering just-entered-delhi experience to me and christina - we insisted on telling all of the rickshaw drivers we wanted to just 'go for a wander' and then ended up stubbornly getting lost in torrential rain...
Try to be careful about avoiding being ripped off - there might still be trains even if they say there aren't. There basically seems to be a whole network of people who get commision from all sorts of different companies and will basially tell you anything to try and get a bit of money out of you. So don't believe tat your hotel has burned down and you have to go somewhere else unless yu actually see the smouldering rubble...
Anyway, enjoy the North of India! McLeodganj is the nicest bit of Dharamshala - it's a few kilometres further up the mountain but there are regular buses. I assume you're staying in the Golden Temple in Amritsar but if not you should it's really worth it, atleast for a night. Try to eat in the temple too it's the weirdest culinary experience i've ever had...
Have an amazing time and stay safe
Mike
PS - You're not going to Shimla are you? I could try to put you in touch with the monk who looked after us...

Bigger Brother Watson
Love the blog girls, it sounds like you have got to know the locals pretty well! I reckon there'll be a few more grey hairs appearing on parents' heads by the end of all this, perhaps 'selective blogging' is the way forward...! I have been told by rachel's brother that the Chai Tea is fantastic over there, basically sold out the back of carts for about 10p a cup, slightly cheaper than crook hall perhaps. Looking forward to reading more and seeing your photos, keep in touch!
Dad Forster
