Another sunny day today, I think we must be blessed. It’s been nearly three weeks on the road and we’ve only seen rain twice. Not bad for late spring! Anyway, after a leisurely breakfast in the sun it was difficult prise ourselves off our chairs and get motivated for a day on the beaches of Normandy. Down on Utah beech the wind was blowing hard and the sand was stinging our legs and faces as we ventured along the shoreline.

Inside the church of St Mere Eglise is this special stained glass window commemorating the D day landings. You can see two paratroopers on either side of the Virgin Mary. This church is a delight and is well worth a visit.
