After our first night at Our Cabana, we offered grains to the Gods, in an opening ceremony. Afterwards we had breakfast which was a variety of yoghurts, cereals and crepes.

We did some team building exercises so that we were able to get to know some of the other girls. We then had some time to do some crafts which included painting pots and making things out of beads.

After dinner we were then put into groups where we played some games where we had to roll a dice and whatever colour we landed indicated which section we had to go to to complete a challenge. The team to get to the end of the board first wins. Challenges included physical challenges, questions and challenges where we had to act things out. After we finished our challenges some of us decided to jump into the pool fully clothed to celebrate their victory!

We had tea and then had a campfire where each group sang their own campfire songs and the other groups joined in, it was a laugh learning new songs and having some of the volunteers singing their own campfire songs in Spanish.

Our first day in Our Cabana has been eventful and tiring, but it has also been an experience for us all.
