We have arrived in Banff having stayed in Sun Peaks and Jasper. We are all still talking so a good sign, although I think I may be getting the sack from being the tour leader… not sure why !! maybe something to do with the number of stops I have arranged and the inability to locate a BEAR, even though I have found caribou, elk, wolf, squirrels, mountain goats…
Oh well never mind we still have some time to locate the BEARS. Currently have on ongoing bet with Paul re seeing bears. He is giving me 5:1 odds each day. So far I have paid out $2 and we only started 2 days ago, so not looking good only 3 more days for opportunities…
The scenery has been amazing changing around every corner. We have been through prairie type country with farms and a definite country feel and country sized muffins (see picture). You certainly didn't want to say anything to the chef - you would know why if you had seen him.
Pictures do not do justice to the snow capped mountains, rock formations, canyons, lakes and waterfalls, but I will give you a glimpse of a few. The trip between Jasper and Banff is spectacular where one becomes a little complacent when you turn a corner to see yet another glacier. Our trip onto the glacier was a highlight and the canyons with water gushing through narrow spaces another. Instead of walkways over highways for humans we saw them for the animals-all grassed and safe for them to cross.
Tomorrow we explore Banff, use the washing machine and maybe find a hairdresser. ..
