Seattle, Washington
I've been thinking I should post a last message from Seattle. I've been home for over a month now and this travel blog is helping to keep my memories fresh. I've even added it to my Facebook.
Joke The smart thing to do is to take the Euro Star train directly from London into Paris thgoruh the Chunnel. Its a good trip and well worth it because it is so easy. You can even make reservations on line and pick up your tickets at the station at a kiosk. When you get to Paris just walk from the train station to the Seine to get a feel for the city and once you get to the river all the tourist sites are within walking distance (about 3 miles one end to the other). With only a day trip, you should go to Notre Dame and then work your way towards the Arc de Triumph. That way you pass by the Louvre, Jardin des Tuileries, Place de la Concorde, Les Invalades, Pont Alexander III bridge, walk along the Champs-Elysees and finally see the Arc and much more along the way. I hope you get there and that it is a nice day. You will have a ball. Eat at any spot you see along the way-there are tons of street vendors with good food and not too expensive.
re: Chunnel into LondonSoggy True Matthew..two weeks ago when I was arranging books in a shelf in front of the ref desk, I got more qoetsiuns than when I sat behind a desk 1 metre away but we are only talking 3 years. I'd love to have floorwalkers wearing fluoro bibs so they could chat to people to help them out where they needed it. I'm not sure my colleagues would go for that. My library installed a new desk two weeks ago, so I think it will be more than three years before we can get rid of it ..dreaming on .I'm also not sure my doodle emphasises us as supplier of online resources, or of authentication like it should and ooops I forgot to include an OPAC maybe we could just somehow make the catalogue search part of our regular pages so that people don't feel like they go to a different place .

re: Gamla Uppsala VisitKamran The Sling Library is fabulous – I’ve tried out two caeirrrs and had loads of advice from Emily about all the different choices. My daughter is one – I started out using a jersey sling for the first few months and then started using a Baby Bjorn but now using the BB for any length of time gives me a sore lower back. Not so with the slings in the Library – the two that I tried were super comfy, even for a whole day out. Having the opportunity to actually try the caeirrrs before buying is so helpful – it would be awful to buy one and then find that it wasn’t comfy. Also – going to the Library was fun – lots of mums with different aged babies trying out different slings and swapping experiences and Emily on hand to tell us the pros and cons of each one. Seriously brilliant – so glad that a friend recommended it to me.
re: British LibrarySonia You could certainly see your eireptxse in the work you write. The world hopes for more passionate writers like you who aren't afraid to say how they believe. Always go after your heart.
